The crepuscular rays coming through these storm clouds created the most beautiful play of light over Central Park. The Reservoir became a stunning aqua color, like a lagoon in the Caribbean. The illuminated green grass looked electric in contrast to the steel-blue storm clouds, and the parting of the clouds above made it look like the heavens were opening up. It was surreal to witness! What's fascinating to see is how the sky changed in a matter of minutes from what you see here, as seen in my series of seven "Rain Curtain Approaching Manhattan" photos in the Storm Cloud collection.
